This
site is dedicated to the history of the Lockheed PV-2 "Harpoon."
One of the most over-looked aircraft of World War Two, this
aircraft soldiered on with numerous air arms around the world into
the late 1960s. Harpoon's continued to battle fires and
agricultural pests into the 1990s. Now retired from its "combat"
duties, most surviving 'Poons sit neglected at airports throughout
the western United States.
Several however,
are under restoration or flying in the care of warbird enthusiasts
in the United States. One such aircraft, 37107, the oldest known
existing PV-2 is currently undergoing a ground-up restoration at
the hands of a professional restoration team. The restoration of
37107 will be an ongoing feature on this site.
